Food Processing Equipment for Viscous, Shear-Sensitive, and Clean-In-Place Service
Food processing lines handle products that change with temperature, solids, air, shear, and cleaning chemistry. Sauces, dressings, fillings, syrups, edible oils, fruit preparations, starches, shortenings, and tomato products do not behave like water — and the equipment should not be selected as if they do.
Triplex Sales supplies sanitary pumps, valves, fittings, hose assemblies, gaskets, heat exchange, homogenizers, Votator scraped-surface heat exchangers, and support parts used across food-processing plants.
Many common fittings, gaskets, hose assemblies, repair parts, and selected pump/valve items are stocked locally in Schaumburg, IL or available through manufacturing partner warehouses. Same-day shipment may be available on stocked items; confirm current availability at quote.

Process Architecture
Ingredient receiving and unloading
Bulk liquids, totes, drums, pails, and bins should be reviewed around viscosity, suction condition, container geometry, cleanability, and stock urgency. Thin products may start with centrifugal review; viscous or non-flowing products often require PD, twin screw, or unloading equipment.
Transfer, metering and recirculation
Transfer equipment should be selected around flow, pressure, viscosity at temperature, solids, shear sensitivity, and cleaning method. Circumferential piston PD, twin screw, centrifugal, AODD/EODD, and valve selections should be tied to the actual duty rather than line size alone.
Thermal processing and heat exchange
Heating and cooling choices depend on viscosity, fouling tendency, particulates, product sensitivity, regeneration needs, and cleanability. Plate, tubular, scraped-surface, and related process equipment should be reviewed by product behavior.
Routing, separation and CIP
Valve selection should support clean routing, isolation, backflow prevention, sampling, product/CIP separation, and pressure protection. Mix-proof, seat, butterfly, ball, check, relief, and sample valves each belong in different parts of the process.
Filling, packaging and maintenance support
Downstream reliability often depends on hose assemblies, gasket compatibility, replacement seals, spool pieces, pump parts, and fast access to stocked components when production is waiting.

Application Examples
Particulate sauce transfer: U3 flat-cover/L-gasket design improved CIP confidence and reduced manual-cleaning risk.
Chocolate transfer: WCB PD pump configuration addressed product separation, high amps, seal failures, and manual cleaning.
Votator SSHE crystallization: controlled fats/oils crystallization improved packaging/product performance.
Materials, Cleaning, Documentation & Safety
Requirements vary by application and by the exact equipment configuration. Triplex can help review sanitary design, cleaning method, material compatibility, documentation needs, line standards, and replacement-part requirements before a component is selected.
