W68 throttling valve sizing check

Start with flow and the pressure drop across the valve. Calculate required Cv, then compare the published W68 stem choices at the operating points you enter.

Waukesha W68 sanitary throttling valve

This is a preliminary liquid-service screen, not a final valve selection. The published table targets 20-80% stroke, with 50% preferred. Line size alone does not set valve size. For divert, aseptic, or higher-viscosity duty, involve Triplex before specifying hardware.

1 / Define the liquid2 / Enter flow and pressure3 / Review the operating range

1. Define the liquid and duty

2. Normal operating point

Use pressures at the valve inlet and outlet, not pump discharge pressure before line losses.

3. Operating range (optional)

For a useful control recommendation, enter minimum and maximum flow and both valve pressures. Leave all three fields for a point blank if unknown. Results will test each entered point against 20-80% stroke.

Minimum flow

Maximum flow

What this check does not decide

Final sizing needs temperature, vapor pressure/cavitation check, pressure class and adapter/clamp rating, actuator holding force and fail position, seat and elastomer compatibility, connections, and cleaning requirements. The Cv table is an approximate stem/stroke screen, not a promise of installed performance.
