ITT valve position feedback

ITT ISP switch packages for knowing where the valve actually is.

The ISP is not the valve body, actuator, or diaphragm. It is the feedback package that helps the control system confirm valve position. For automated diaphragm valve assemblies, that distinction matters.

01 - What ISP does

ISP is the valve's position-feedback package.

In an automated sanitary or high-purity valve assembly, the actuator moves the valve. The ISP helps report valve position back to the control system so operators and automation know whether the valve is open, closed, or in the expected state.

Feedback

Open/closed confirmation

Used where the plant needs confirmation that the valve reached the commanded position instead of assuming actuator movement equals process state.

Automation

PLC and panel integration

ISP selection should be reviewed with wiring, control voltage, sensor type, enclosure expectations, and the plant's automation standard.

Assembly fit

Matched to the valve package

The correct package depends on the diaphragm valve platform, actuator/bonnet style, mounting, stroke, environment, and service access.

02 - Selection

What to verify before quoting an ISP package.

Most ISP mistakes come from treating it like a generic electrical accessory. It should be selected as part of the complete valve assembly.

Valve platformPure-Flo, EnviZion/BioViZion/PfuZion and other valve assemblies can have different mounting and package requirements.Valve model, body size, bonnet/actuator type, photos if replacing existing hardware.
Feedback requirementSome systems only need open/closed indication; others need more specific status or integration behavior.Required signals, PLC/input card details, voltage, plant standard, and control narrative if available.
Operating environmentWashdown, chemical exposure, temperature, and location affect enclosure and sensing expectations.Room/environment, cleaning method, electrical area requirements, and sanitation expectations.
Replacement vs new assemblyReplacing a failed or obsolete switch package is different from specifying a new automated valve assembly.Existing tag/model, photos, failure mode, and whether the valve/actuator is staying in service.
03 - Where ISP fits

ISP belongs between the actuator and the control system.

For practical selection, think of the package as part of the automated valve assembly: valve body + diaphragm + bonnet/actuator + feedback/switch package + wiring/control interface.
